Pacers Running Mural
I had the great pleasure of designing and installing a mural for DC-based running shop, Pacers Running’s pop-up location on H-Street. Pulling inspiration from the neighborhood and the spirit of running in DC, this piece presented me with a lot of exciting themes to pull inspiration from. The shop is directly across the street from the country’s first fully operated ASL Starbucks in the country and there are messages within the mural that platform that.
Setting the stage.
The store was designed by Colleen West who was also the voice and inspiration who encouraged me to actual hand paint the artwork.
My friends at Pacers Running left me an envelope with a key inside so that I could install the mural over the course of a weekend during my trip to DC. On the envelope, my title read, “artist” which forced me to reflect and appreciate where I’ve been fortunate enough to take my career.
